Extra Info[]
- In addition to Alan's acoustic drums, some tracks included sounds from a Linn brand LM-1 and LM-2 (and reportedly a Vox Drumbox)[1] For instance a Linn can be heard on the track "The Super Thing" - whose drum track was sampled for the later "Watch Us Work It." Alan can be seen with a LM-1 in the "Beautiful World" video (although the track also featured acoustic drums).
- This is the last album by Devo to have the phrase, "a subsidiary and licensee of Warner Bros. Inc.," on the back cover. However, cassettes by the band continued to use this phrase until 1984.
- The NuTra Pomp was based on John F. Kennedy's hairdo as seen in a commemorative postage stamp.
- New Traditionalists was released by Virgin Records with alternate album design.
- DEVO: Unmasked. page 152. “Thanks, General Boy” reveals that Robert Mothersbaugh, Sr. submitted lyrics to DEVO and that his lyrics for “Enough Said” were used.
